Housing is such a pain in the ass.
Living off-campus with three of my sorority sisters
PRO:
- I am guaranteed a single.
- I am guaranteed a SPACIOUS single.
- I have a normal kitchen.
- I can have a life outside of my sorority (even though I will be living with some of them).
- I can have my boyfriend over whenever I want.
- I can have alcohol around if I want.
- I don’t have to go to events if I don’t want to.
- It is right on Easton Avenue, near everything.
- It is literally a few steps away from the sorority house.
CONS:
- I’m not that close to these sisters, so I might get lonely.
- It will end up being more expensive, including utilities and cable.
- There is no washer/dryer.
- I’d have to bring most of my own cleaning supplies and furniture.
Living in the sorority house
PRO:
- Individually, it is cheaper because the price is stable and all-inclusive.
- Laundry is free, cleaning supplies and a lot of furniture are included
- I’d be around other people and I won’t get lonely.
- I will always be in the know of what is going on in AXO.
CON:
- I’m not even guaranteed a single and my choice of room is very limited.
- I won’t be allowed to have Alvin sleep over (even worse than Jameson)
- I might have too much AXO and get sick of everyone.
- Even though the price is seemingly cheap, it’s actually not. I would be sharing a space with 19 OTHER GIRLS which means the house is collectively 12,000+ dollars per month. That’s ridiculous.
- The rooms are a lot smaller.
- The kitchen is downstairs.
Some of these factors outweigh the others. Laundry is sort of a big deal for me and so is the loneliness factor. I don’t know! I’m getting so anxious. It’s making me wonder if I should just live in a single room on-campus. That would mean I’ll be in a new building (probably with freshman) without a kitchen or living room. It might be equally lonely plus it’d be more expensive. But it might also mean new friends! I DON’T KNOW!
